Floating Breakwater
Livart Marine was engaged to design, manufacture, and supply a floating breakwater system for Taichung Port, providing critical wave attenuation and protection for inner harbour operations. The project formed part of ongoing port infrastructure improvements, enhancing safety and operability in exposed marine conditions.
Design & Construction
The system utilised Livart’s Floating Breakwater System, engineered to deliver exceptional stability and energy dissipation performance. A total of 2,900m² of breakwater modules were prefabricated in Livart’s QA-controlled facility, combining robust concrete decking with HDPE-lined EPS flotation cores. The modular design allowed for efficient transport and installation while maintaining the structural integrity required for high-energy wave environments.
Outcome
The completed floating breakwater has improved harbour safety and operational reliability, demonstrating Livart’s capability to deliver engineered floating structures for high-performance coastal applications.
